Chances are they aren't as evolved as humans (but this depends on the animal in question... it's possible some are MORE evolved; whales and dolphins come to mind) ... I also believe that animals who share love and close bond with humans experience soular evolution through that experience, just as we do through ours. Animals are so precious! They've just been short-changed by us dense bipeds.
